Welcome to the home of Cantores Olicanae, Ilkley’s leading chamber choir. We are a mixed voice choir, established in the 1970s.
Each year the choir performs four or five concerts, of major choral works, under the expert guidance of our professional conductor Robert Marsh, usually with invited soloists and with either keyboard/organ or orchestral accompaniment.
Our concert season begins in the autumn, with a concert around October or November and is then followed by our traditional family Carol Concert in December. In the following spring, we usually hold another concert or two before taking a well-earned break for the summer!
We welcome amateur singers from Ilkley and the surrounding areas. Rehearsals are held on Tuesday evenings at St Margaret’s Church, Queen’s Road, Ilkley. If you’re interested in joining us, please click here for more details.
We thoroughly enjoyed our recent Carol Concert on 17th December in Christchurch Ilkley and we'd like to thank everyone who turned up to hear us sing. We were delighted to be joined by The CuZn Ensemble, a brass quintet from Huddersfield, who delighted our audience with their playing and their wit!
Cantores Olicanae are now taking a well-earned break but will be getting back together in early January to begin work on a selection of music for our Passiontide concerts on 17th & 31st March. We would like to wish all our supporters, sponsors, friends and family the very best wishes for the Christmas Season and for the New Year.
